Challenge

They required deep insights to the results of their marketing efforts on this side of the ocean. In order to gain full insight in marketing performance one needs to go beyond Web Analytics and integrate as well as visualize data from different sources. There is no plug-and-play solution that would provide this company with those insights visualized in a single interface. And that’s where Adversitement came into the picture.

Solution

To provide the client with the most flexible yet performant data visualization solution, the project was broken down into two phases:

Phase 1: Data Lake

Because of the size of their business operations they handle a vast amount of data. This data is collected from a variety of sources and comes in different forms. We call this raw data. To store massive amounts of raw data from different sources Adversitement used cutting edge technologies to set up a data lake in the cloud. As a partner of Amazon Web Services Adversitement is able to apply the latest advances in cloud services to their business organization. Via this Data Lake in the cloud the client is able to assign undefined purposes to this raw data in the future.

Phase 2: Data Engineering

To handle the raw data in this Data Lake, Adversitement built a data model. In this model the data sources are organized in a way they’re easily applicable to combine different data sources and get valuable insights. Via Tableau the data is analyzed and shown in a clear dashboard so our client can get the most out of their business in an effortless manner. 

Benefits

By combining different data sources in a clear manner, the client is able to measure the ROI of their marketing efforts. Different marketing channels’ results can be compared to see which is most effective. This way campaigns can be optimized on very specific level, even with advertisement works best. An additional benefit is that they now have full control and ownership of their data.

Future

By working with Adversitement this company was ready to set up a data structure that could benefits their whole business organization. Insights in marketing ROI is just one use case for this dataset. In the future they could setup many different visualisations and run powerful data analysis to advance into predictive and prescriptive analysis.
